Kenneth W. Cox was born on July 10, 1965 in Tulsa OK. He was lovingly adopted by his parents, Mike and Maxine Cox. He passed away from health complications at his home on January 22, 2012, with his dad and loving 15-year-old dog, Nelson, by his side. Kenny grew up in Muskogee and attended Tony Goetz, St. Josephs, Alice Robertson and Muskogee High schools, all along making lifetime friends. Kenny cooked for many years at Okies Restaurant, installed heating/cooling at Captive Air of Tulsa and Hix Heat & Air of Muskogee.
Kenny is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine (Cox) Young and Stepmother, Thelma Cox. He leaves to cherish his memory his dad, Mike Cox, sister, Patti Cox of Boston, MA, birth mother, Marilyn Jensen of Glenpool, OK, his special, "adopted" daughter Stacy (Baugh) Sexton and husband David of Jenks, Ok and their 3 children Bailie, Elijah, and Dacia. Kenny also leaves a longtime best friend, Todd Matthews, for whom he had enormous love and respect.
Kenny wore many hats over the years: Loving and generous son, brother, step-dad and friend. He loved swimming, animals, cooking; and could fix just about anything. But his strongest trait was his dedication and loyalty to anyone or anything down-trodden happening to cross his path. Kenny had a wonderful, loving and generous heart, always willing to help those who needed it. He created a bond with his adopted daughter, Stacy, that showed compassion, trust, safety, and love. He was always there for her, even standing up when she was given away in marriage by her parents. In life people take many different paths on their journey, knowing that one day it will be finished. Kenny took many different paths, some longer than others, but the ones he held dear to him he always kept a watch over.
A private memorial service will be held late spring for friends and family. A permanent, online memorial has been created by Patti Cox for friends and family to visit and share remembrances, photos and more about Kenny's life here on earth.
